Robert Cowherd, PhD, Professor at Wentworth Institute of Technology teaches architectural design studios and various courses in architectural history at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His Freshman lecture "Empathy" presents the ethical imperative of architects to serve all users through the principles of Universal Design. He is a frequent collaborator with Wentworth's Learning Innovation Technology group in advancing new tools and approaches to multiplying the modes of instruction to better meet the needs of all learners. Beyond flipping the classroom, he has continuously tested ways to activate students to engage each other exploiting the power of social learning.
