Sean is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. He is a Principal Lecturer and Learning and Teaching Leader at the University of Worcester in England where he also acts as the Course Leader for the National Award SENCO. This is a postgraduate course for special needs coordinators in schools. Additionally, Sean teaches on the PG Cert Learning and Teaching in HE, which is a nationally recognised course for promoting pedagogical excellence in Higher Education. Sean's research interests are focused on strengthening access and outcomes for ALL learners in Higher Education - especially those who are marginalised.
Through the use of case studies, this interactive CAST session shares and extends learning from a forthcoming sector-leading book entitled 'Transforming Higher Education through Universal Design for Learning: An International Perspective'. The book, which Sean is co-editing along with Katie Novak, is available early in 2019. The contributing authors are thought leaders and practitioners from Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) across the globe and they provide insights to cutting edge UDL theory and practice. The session promotes active learning to foster a deeper understanding of critical themes emerging from reflections on the transnational application of UDL design. The aim is to leave you inspired to make positive and research-informed changes within your own educational setting.
