Asma Batool is a Ph. D. Candidate in Educational and Counselling Psychology in the Human Development stream at McGill University. Her special interests include promoting inclusive education in the Middle-East through UDL-based teachers’ training and professional development programs; exploring cognitive and social-emotional outcomes in the UDL-based research; and parents’ transformation while raising children with developmental disabilities. Currently, she is working to explore how teachers in general education classroom anticipate barriers to learning with diverse learners and what processes are required in the intentional alignment of the teaching components to the anticipation, identification and reducing barriers. Additionally, she is working on how UDL can facilitate and compliment non-traditional high-efficiency schools. Batool is associated with the SPARC (Social Policy, Advocacy, Research, Community) Lab of Dr. Tara Flanagan, associate professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology.
